Candy, redeux

Today’s prompt: What candy did you eat once that you wish you could eat again?

One candy that  I loved as a youngster that they don’t make anymore, is Reed’s Cinnamon Discs. They came in a roll, like Lifesavers, but they were individually wrapped, and oh so good. Unlike Lifesavers, Reed’s discs did not have a hole in the middle; rather they were indented in the center.

I would buy several rolls at a time, but they never lasted very long, no matter how many rolls I would buy. Reed’s also made Root Beer and Butterscotch discs; the Root Beer ones were my brother’s favorites, and the Butterscotch was my mom’s. I liked them all ok, but loved the cinnamon the best. The flavor was so intense.

Because they were individually wrapped, they were easy to pop into a pocket or purse. I’ve heard a rumor that Reed’s Hard Candies may be coming back, but I haven’t been able to confirm it. This is one rumor I hope is true.
